Accompanist

Born and raised in the Nation's Capital, Tom Sear makes his living as a professional pianist in Ottawa, ON. He began his musical training at the age of six and has spent his life since then working at refining his musical abilities. He studied at the University of Ottawa under Andrew Tunis and Jean Paul Sevilla and in 2007 he completed his studies and earned a Masters degree in music with a focus in piano performance. He specializes in classical repertoire with a focus on romantic and Russian music. On the side, Tom also enjoys playing the blues, and experimenting with modern electronic compositions. He is also accompanist for Harmonia Choir of Ottawa, Musica Viva Singers, the St. Thomas the Apostle Choir, and the Boys Choir of the Ottawa Children's Choir. In addition to working with choirs, he also accompanies instrumental and vocal soloists and students, and enjoys teaching piano and music theory privately from his studio in Orleans. He also has some background as a percussionist.
